Terms of use

Last updated: 2026. These terms govern this website. They are not a fee agreement and they do not govern legal representation.

We help people file for bankruptcy relief under the Bankruptcy Code.

1. Who publishes this site

Law Office of Eric L. Sayre, 1451 River Park Dr., Suite 121, Sacramento, CA 95815. Responsible attorney: Eric L. Sayre, California State Bar No. 227423.

2. Website use only

These terms govern your use of this website. If we agree to represent you, that representation is governed entirely by a separate signed written fee agreement, which controls over anything on this site, including any description of fees or services.

3. No attorney-client relationship, no confidentiality

Using this site does not make you a client. Information you send through this site before a signed fee agreement is not privileged and not confidential. Do not send sensitive details until we have opened an engagement and told you where to send them.

4. Not legal advice

Content here is general information about the Bankruptcy Code and California exemption law. It is not advice about your circumstances, and you should not act or refrain from acting based on it. See our legal notices, which are incorporated into these terms.

5. Fees described on this site

Any fee shown on this site is an estimate for a typical matter of that type, not a quote and not an offer. Your actual fee depends on the facts of your case and is set in your written fee agreement. Court filing fees and required course fees are separate and are set by third parties.

6. No guarantee

We do not guarantee any outcome. See legal notices.

7. Accuracy

This site is provided as is, without warranty. We may change or remove content at any time without notice.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of this website. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here limits any duty we owe to an actual client under the California Rules of Professional Conduct — those duties are not waivable by a website term.

9. Governing law

California law governs these terms. Any dispute about this website will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Sacramento County, California.
